ETRAX

eTraX Study
Client: South American Mining Company

We conducted a feasibility study for the client to design and implement an electric Mine Haul system, aiming to assess the required size of the electrical system and the expected performance of the electric Mine Haul trucks at the mine site. The study included:
GIS Model: We mapped out in GIS future mining tracks and an electrical system that would be needed to run these trucks using a trolley system with DC substations. We performed the necessary studies to size the AC and DC components of the system.
Electrical Studies: Short Circuit and Load Flow Studies, a comparison between diesel and electric truck performances, and equipment requirements and sizing with manufacturer information.
Single-Line Diagram: Combined the eTraX GIS model with electrical infrastructure provided by the client, and modelled new electrical components required by the new system.
